    7th Path Update

As those who were in my class may remember, I was experiencing echoes of physical pain as we were learning 7th Path. I just wanted to let you all know where I've gone with it.

After class was over I started over with just Delta 1 for a week, then I added Delta 2 for another week. Tomorrow I'm going to add Delta 3.

The PVCs (premature ventricular contractions) in my heart continued through my Delta 1 week and for most of the past week, but a couple of days ago they just faded away. I think the cup has emptied enough to knock down the heart pain! I'm not sure whether or not it will start back up when I add Delta 3 and/or Delta 4, but I'm really looking forward to letting them work on the things that they work on. That's not to say that Delta 1 & 2 aren't still stirring some things up inside me, but the heart PVCs (which originally showed up a year ago and were medically diagnosed as being caused by excessive job stress) have abated during 7th Path and I see that as a good thing.

Sometimes I've had the coolest experience when doing 7th Path the past few days. It didn't happen this morning, but it has happened a few times. Like I said, things are still getting stirred up, so just a few repetitions into Delta 1 usually has me in a condition that can be likened to driving on a bumpy road. Things get rougher and rougher as I go along, but on a few occasions I'll be near the end of my Delta 1 period or somewhere in my Delta 2 period and all of a sudden the bumps will stop and it will be like driving on a road that's as smooth as glass. And when this happens I feel something that's almost like being physically lifted up to a higher level. Everything is calm, smooth, and clear. Most of my echoes at that point are things like, "Wow, this is so cool!"

I hope that 7th Path is working wonders for everyone else, too.

    Internship's First Day

Today, we received our Intern Orientation from Cal and Maureen, and all I can say is WOW.

Everything here at the Banyan Center for Hypnosis (I'll refer to it as BCH from now on) is superbly organized with efficiency and effectiveness, and  with the client's best interest in mind.

I got my schedule to see clients assigned for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and I'll be sharing office space with our good friend Mark, while Kelsey will be sharing Cal's. So we both got top-notch hypnotherapy offices and won't have any excuse to perform exceptionally well ;-)

My first client is scheduled for Monday evening (quit smoking 2-session), and I'm very excited to have the opportunity of helping someone achieve that goal (I myself just became a non-smoker recently through hypnosis). I'm a little bit anxious about performing my first session well, but am confident that with the knowledge that Cal shared with us during class, the session should go exactly as it should.

It's hard to summarize what I've learned today, but if I had to sum it up in two sentences, it would be:

    1. The importance, method and art of keeping client records.

    2. When doing AR in special 2-session smoking cessation program, it's OK to have client modify SPE so that she doesn't actually light up that first cigarette. In 5-PATH, as you may remember, the ICT allows the little one to re-live the ISE EXACTLY like it happened, only with the knowledge necessary for such event not to negatively affect client). I know we covered this in Class, but somehow it didn't click well until today.

For those kind souls that have been asking me about the fires that are spreading across the Southland: The Santa Ana winds keep blowing heavy smoke everywhere, and sometimes it's hard to keep one's eyes and throat clear, but otherwise we've been largely unaffected by such terrible natural disaster (though there are theories that they were not completely naturally-caused, an arsonist might have started or contributed to them... this goes to show you how much our skills and abilities in hypnotherapy are needed in this world...).

That's it for today, I'll keep posting what I'm learning, feel free to ask me anything about my experiences and I'll be glad to respond here (within the constrains of confidentiality and common sense, of course).

    Putting Theory into Practice

It's been only 7 days since our class graduated and already we have:

Bobby opening up his private practice in Belfast soon (he has already secured a lease).

Kelsey and Omar going into full-time internships under Cal.

That's 1/6th of the class starting to apply what we've learned within a week! Pretty good, he?

What about the rest? Please post here if/when you're going to start practicing 5-PATH and/or 7-PATH with clients.
